BERGAMO/STARNBERG, February 4, 2025

After a year of “exile” in Rovereto, the Bergamo Challenger is back in its home city, set to take place from November 16 to 23, 2025, in the brand-new ChorusLife Arena. This state-of-the-art venue, inaugurated in November 2024, will host all matches under one roof, with a seating capacity of over 3,000 spectators, solving a long-standing logistical issue for the tournament.

The Trofeo FAIP-Perrel, now in its 20th edition (19th in Bergamo), is one of Italy’s most historic ATP Challenger Tour tournaments. The temporary move to Rovereto in 2024 ensured the event’s continuity while securing its place in the ATP Challenger calendar. Now, the tournament returns to Via Carlo Serassi 26, a strategically located venue near the city’s historic center, the highway exit, and within walking distance of the train station.

A New Chapter for the Bergamo Challenger

Since its inception in 2006, the Bergamo Challenger has faced the challenge of hosting matches at multiple venues. With the city’s former sports hall repurposed, organizers had to arrange secondary courts in Gorle, Alzano Lombardo, and the Italcementi gymnasium. Now, the ChorusLife Arena offers a single, modern venue with top-tier facilities for players, staff, and fans. The Tennis Club Città dei Mille will continue to provide additional training facilities.

A Prestigious History

The Bergamo Challenger has established itself as a key event in the ATP Challenger circuit, boasting an impressive list of past champions. Following Jannik Sinner’s historic triumph at the 2024 Australian Open, the ATP even highlighted his 2019 Bergamo Challenger title as a key milestone in his career. Other notable winners include Matteo Berrettini, Holger Rune, and Jack Draper.

The 2025 edition will take place during the Davis Cup Finals in Bologna, but organizers assure that this will not impact player participation, as the events attract different pools of talent. On the contrary, the increased media attention on tennis during that period will likely benefit the Bergamo Challenger.

A Long-Awaited Homecoming

This return marks a new era for the tournament, reminiscent of its exciting debut in 2006 when The Olme Sport launched the first edition in a very different tennis landscape. Despite the logistical challenges over the years, Tournament Director Marco Fermi has remained committed to maintaining the event’s high standards.

“The partnership with ChorusLife is a well-earned reward for our perseverance,” said Fermi, who also thanked the City of Bergamo for its unwavering support in bringing the tournament back home.

Now, with a world-class venue and a rich tradition, the Bergamo Challenger is set for a new and exciting chapter, solidifying its place as one of Italy’s premier ATP Challenger events. The countdown to November 16-23, 2025, has begun – world-class tennis is officially returning to Bergamo!
