World No. 9 Hubert Hurkacz will play at the 31st edition of the TERRA WORTMANN OPEN, which will be held from June 15 to 23, 2024 in Halle, Westphalia. The 27-year-old Pole has signed a two-year contract, making him the sixth player Top 10 player to compete in this year’s ATP 500 grass-court tournament in Germany. The 2022 champion joins Jannik Sinner, Daniil Medvedev, Alexander Zverev, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Andrey Rublev.

“That the best professionals in the world regularly prepare for Wimbledon in Halle is a great confirmation of our outstanding work and makes me very proud,” said tournament director Ralf Weber. “In recent years, we have clearly surpassed Queen’s with our field of participants.

Wortmann AG extends title sponsorship

The organizers of the TERRA WORTMANN OPEN also announced in a press release that the Wortmann AG will remain as title sponsor of the event through 2025. This means that the IT manufacturer from Hüllhorst and the organizing OWL Sport & Event GmbH & Co. KG will continue their partnership that has been in place for three years. Since 2020, Wortmann AG has also been a shareholder in the operating company of the OWL ARENA.

For Ralf Weber, tournament director of the TERRA WORTMANN OPEN and managing partner of OWL ARENA, the contract extension is an extremely positive sign: “We are very grateful for the long-term support and look forward to a continuing successful partnership. We are convinced that this extension will help elevate the tournament to a new level in the long term and inspire even more tennis fans.”
