The ITF World Tennis Tour is back on the Canary Islands with a two-week clay-court swing being held at the El Cortijo Club de Campo in Telde, the second-largest city of Gran Canaria.

Alejandro Manzanera Pertusa of Spain clinched the title of the Gran Canaria Men’s TDC Series Pro I. The 21-year-old from Alicante, who lifted his maiden trophy on the Pro Circuit at the same place last year, defeated his compatriot and qualifier Tomas Curas Abasolo 6-7(6), 6-3, 6-0 in Sunday’s singles final of the $15,000 clay-court event. Manzanera Pertusa, who dropped only one set en route to the championship match, capitalized on seven of his 22 break-point chances to seal victory in two hours and 54 minutes.

The former Top 15 junior and 2021 Wimbledon Boys’ doubles champion alongside Edas Butvilas from Lithuania collected 15 ATP Ranking points. After winning his first title of the season, Manzanera Pertusa is currently ranked World No. 776.
