Roberto Bautista Agut and Fabio Fognini will compete in Sunday’s singles final of the second edition of the Copa Faulcombridge Ciudad de Valencia. Bautista Agut, top seed of the €118,000 ATP Challenger Tour clay-court event being held at the Club de Tenis Valencia, eased past Kazakh qualifier Denis Yevseyev 6-3, 6-1 in the stage of the last four on Saturday.

The World No. 62 from Spain won 95 per cent of his first-service points and broke his opponent four times to advance in one hour and 10 minutes. Bautista Agut will appear in his first Challenger final since winning the title on home soil at the Open Ciudad Pozoblanco in August 2012. The 35-year-old Castellon de la Plana native is seeking his fourth ATP Challenger career title.

Eighth favourite Fognini defeated No. 3 seed Albert Ramos-Vinolas from Spain 6-4, 6-1. The 36-year-old Italian converted six of his nine break-point chances to secure victory in one hour and 25 minutes. World No. 131 Fognini will play his second final of the season after Genoa, Italy in September and is bidding for his seventh ATP Challenger career crown, his first since Santiago de Chile 13 years ago.

Bautista Agut and Fognini will meet for the 12th time with the Italian leading their head-to-head record 8-3.

In other action, Andrea Vavassori and Andrea Pellegrino captured the doubles title. The top seeds from Italy defeated the all-Spanish combination of Daniel Rincon and Oriol Roca Batalla 6-2, 6-4 in exactly one hour of play.

By winning their second team title after the triumph at the Chile Open ATP 250 event in Santiago, Vavassori and Pellegrino split € 6,845 in prize money and earned 100 ATP Doubles Ranking points.
