The XXXVII edition of the Open Castilla y León Villa de El Espinar and the VII ITF women’s tournament was officially presented at the headquarters of the Provincial Council of Segovia in a ceremony attended by, among others, the Director General of Sports of the Junta de Castilla y León, Enrique Sánchez-Guijo; the President of the Royal Spanish Tennis Federation (RFET), Miguel Díaz; the Tournament Director, Virginia Ruano; the provincial deputy Óscar Moral and the councillor of the City Council of El Espinar, Frutos de Llano.

The Open Castilla y León Villa de El Espinar will be held from 24 to 30 July at the facilities of the Complejo Deportivo Pedro Muñoz, in the Segovian town of El Espinar. For the second consecutive year, both the men’s and women’s tournaments will be played at the same venue following the expansion work undertaken by the organisers in 2022.

The men’s tournament has been upgraded to an ATP Challenger 100 event, while the women’s tournament will be an ITF World Tennis Tour W25 tournament.

Virginia Ruano, director of the Open Castilla y León Villa de El Espinar announced during the presentation of the tournament that “we want to value and link tennis and the cultural and historical heritage of the province. We want to go a little further each edition.”
