Robredo Wins Parma Challenger

Tommy Robredo is the champion of the 2019 Internazionali Di Tennis Emilia Romagna/Goldbet held on clay at the Tennis Club President in Parma. The No. 8 seed from Spain battled past defeats Italian Federico Gaio 7-6(10), 5-7, 7-6(6) in the longest final of the season on the ATP Challenger Tour

Robredo finished the encounter after three hours and 15 minutes. The 37-year-old becomes the oldest player to win multiple titles in a season. Robredo lifted his lifting his seventh Challenger trophy, his second in 2019. He took away from Italy €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP-Ranking points.

Grigelis/Pellegrino win doubles title

On Saturday, Laurynas Grigelis from Lithuania and Italian Andrea Pellegrino took the doubles title.

The unseeded duo fought past the tournament’s second favourites Ariel Behar of Uruguay and Gonzalo Escobar from Ecuador 1-6, 6-3, 10-7. The encounter lasted one hour and 12 minutes.

“It was the first time that we played doubles together and it wasn’t bad at all. We want to thank all the people who worked for this tournament, and we are very pleased to have spent a week here,” the winning team said.
