Tommy Robredo has clinched his first title since Umag 2013, winning the €43,000 Lisboa Belém Open on Sunday. The 36-year-old Spaniard battled past Christian Garin of Chile 3-6, 6-3, 6-2 in the singles final.
Robredo won 83 per cent of his first service points and broke his opponent three times to secure victory in one hour and 57 minutes.

“It’s hard to put into words. When you have not won a title for five years, you forget about what it’s like to live those moments and now that I’ve been able to do it again, I feel the emotions of all the work, of the struggle, of traveling week after week and finally get a trophy,” Robredo stated during an emotional post-match ceremony.
The title marks Robredo’s fifth triumph on the ATP Challenger Tour, his 17th overall. The former World No. 5, who dropped to 227th Position, will take home €6,190 in prize money as well as 80 ATP ranking points.
On Saturday, Marcelo Arevalo from El Salvador and Miguel Angel Reyes-Varela of Mexico clinched the doubles trophies. The No. 2 seeds fought past Tomasz Bednarek from Poland and US-American Hunter Reese 6-3, 3-6, 10-1. The final lasted one hour and 21 minutes.
