Nicolas Jarry lifted his third ATP Challenger title of the season, winning his home tournament in Santiago de Chile. The second seed from South America defeated Marcelo Arevalo of El Salvador 6-1, 7-5 in Saturday’s singles final of the $50,000 Movistar Open by Chachantun, held at the Club de Polo y Equitación San Cristbobal.

Jarry, who didn’t lose one set en route to the clay court final, sent down six aces and converted four of his break point chances to prevail after one hour and 18 minutes.

The 22-year-old Santiago native earns $7,200 in prize money as well as 80 ATP ranking points. Jarry will break into the Top 100 on Monday for the first time. Earlier this year, he took his first two ATP Challenger titles in Medellin and Quito.

Later in the day, Nicolas Jarry was back in action for the doubles final alongside Argentine Maximo Gonzalez. The pair lost to the unseeded Argentines combination of Franco Agamenone and Facundo Arguello 4-6, 6-3, 6-10. The encounter lasted one hour and 29 minutes.
